Canadian Geriatrics Society Annual Scientific Meeting

The theme of the 2024 CGS ASM is “Enriching Lives: Geriatric Health in a Changing World.” At this year’s meeting participants will be able to: • explore the psychological challenges faced by older adults and strategies for promoting mental well-being; • incorporate the impact of environmental shifts on physical and mental health, and healthcare access in the care of older adults; and • appraise the role of artificial intelligence in improving diagnosis, treatment, and overall care for older adults. The educational program is primarily designed for geriatricians, family physicians, and other allied health professionals who care for older adults and are interested in geriatric health care. The program is also designed for medical students and other health professional students, as well as medical residents.

The Australian Pain Society continues to align their conference theme with the IASP Global Year; in 2024 this is, ‘In the IASP Global Year of Sex and Gender Disparities in Pain'. The Scientific Program Committee is thrilled to have procured two impressive international speakers; Dr Christine Chambers, Dalhouise University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Dr Cheryl Stucky, Pain Division of the Neuroscience Research Center, Medical College of Wisconsin, USA. They will be joined by an inspiring range of national speakers presenting a contemporary scientific program showcasing the breadth of pain management research, theory, and practice. The APS invites all those with an interest in pain management and education to attend APS 2024 in Darwin, a rich multi-cultural and naturally beautiful location.
