We promote events and sessions on behalf of other organisations in our external events calendar that are aligned with our stated objectives and relevant to the clinical practice of geriatric medicine. If you’d like to promote an event that fits these criteria, please complete our online form. Please note all submissions will be reviewed for relevance before being uploaded.
ANZSGM led events, meetings, seminars, workshops, and lectures are developed by experts and tailored to the training and continuing professional development needs of geriatricians, trainees in geriatric medicine and physicians caring for older people. These events are promoted to members directly via Society Bulletins and Newsletters. Please contact our head office for details about upcoming members sessions.

The theme of the 2024 CGS ASM is “Enriching Lives: Geriatric Health in a Changing World.” At this year’s meeting participants will be able to: • explore the psychological challenges faced by older adults and strategies for promoting mental well-being; • incorporate the impact of environmental shifts on physical and mental health, and healthcare access in the care of older adults; and • appraise the role of artificial intelligence in improving diagnosis, treatment, and overall care for older adults. The Edinburgh International Course in Medicine for the Older Adult will be delivered in person in 2024, and there will be an excellent line up of speakers from the UK and worldwide to cover a variety of topics relevant to anyone involved in the care of older people. Although of particular value to doctors working in geriatric medicine at consultant or trainee level, many general practitioners, allied health professionals and specialist nurses may also find the course very relevant and worthwhile. The course is designed to update you on the theory and practice of geriatric medicine with many practical talks, as well as wide-ranging discussions on the holistic management of the older adult.
