Christchurch has rebuilt, recovered and regenerated after adversity. We strive to keep our older people standing strong, just like our city. We’ll bring together top academics including Prof Andy Clegg and Prof Cathie Sherrington for keynote addresses highlighting the latest research in the promotion of physical activity, falls prevention and share findings from major frailty trials. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with other Advanced Trainees from Australia and New Zealand and to gain valuable professional insights over two days.

ISPRM Congress 2024, in conjunction with 7th Annual Meeting of the Rehabilitation Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand

International Convention Centre, Sydney

The 18th World Congress of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) will be a major event in Sydney, running from the 1st – 6th June 2024. It will be held in conjunction with the 7th Annual Meeting of the Rehabilitation Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand (RMSANZ). The Congress will be a forum for the presentation of international research, discovery and innovation in rehabilitation medicine. Whilst the major subgroups of clinical endeavour in the field of rehabilitation medicine will be covered; the conference will have a focus on the three “T’s” (trauma, technology and timing). The scientific program will include pre-congress practical workshops, plenary sessions and themed sessions with invited speakers and selected free paper presentations. Currently, it is planned for the Congress to be face-to-face with video conferencing from some of the invited speakers.

Australian Dementia Research Forum

The Australian Dementia Research Forum is the premier annual event that brings together dementia researchers, health professionals and policy makers, as well as people living with dementia and their families and carers, to discuss the latest research, innovations, and best practices in dementia. The theme for the ADRF2024 is Turning the Tide on Dementia, with particular focus on exciting new innovations in the field. The Forum is a meeting place for national and global experts to share the latest developments in dementia research, care and policy and to challenge perceptions of living with, or caring for someone with, a dementia diagnosis. Six expert international and national speakers have been invited to deliver keynote addresses at ADRF2024, on topics spanning monoclonal antibodies, exercise physiology, neuroimaging, molecular causes of tauopathy in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia prevalence in specific communities.
